Williamsport, Pa. - James Herbert Smith, 88, a native of Sylvania, died Wednesday at a Williamsport, Pa., hospital after a long illness. He had lived in Swainsboro for most of his life. He had lived in Williamsport for several years and was a member of the Swainsboro First Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Harold A. Banks of Williamsport; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Smith-Tillman Mortuary of Statesboro with burial in Eastside Cemetery.
