Selma L. Miller, 86, of Mackey Road in East Durham, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2009, after being stricken suddenly at home.
Selma was born on July 18, 1923 in Howes Cave, NY, a daughter of William and Martha (Swartz) Friss. She graduated from the former Cobleskill High School and held a variety of jobs until moving to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1975.
Selma's great joy in life was dancing and she was a ballroom dance instructor for over 15 years and volunteered her services for over 20 years in the Moose Lodge in St. Petersburg.
She lived in Tennessee for two years and very recently moved back to New York to be with her family. She loved to read, knit and be with her dogs.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy; a son, Jeff Livingston; three grandchildren, Holly, Hillary and Nathan; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Kaylie; and her daughter-in-law, Ellen Miller.
She was predeceased by her son, Carter J. Miller. A memorial service was held at at the Langan Funeral Home, 327 Main St., Schoharie with burial following in the Sloansville Valley Cemetery.
