Geneva was the daughter of Thomas & Mary (Commons) Marshall. She married John Paris Pipkin in Newton County on August 13, 1895.

Married, at the residence of the writer, Tuesday, August 13th, at 5 P.M., Mr. John Pipkin to Miss Geneva Marshall. This wedding was also very quiet, only the father of the groom accompanied the couple. In a brief ceremony the two were pronounced one. The groom is a young farmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. T.B. Pipkin, prominent citizens. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Marshall, a farmer also living near Newtonia. These young people have many friends who will join with us in wishing them much joy.

She died at 8 a.m. on Feb. 28, 1926.from Influenza, which had developed from Bronchial Pneumonia. She had lived 50 years, 2 months, & 18 days. John Pipkin of Stark City, MO was the informant on her death certificate. She was buried March 1.
"Mrs. Geneva Marshall Pipkin died last Sunday and was buried in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery Monday. The funeral was held at the baptist church and was held at the Baptist Church and was conducted by Rev. Campbell.
She was born in 1875 and was married to John Pipkin, who survives her. Besides her husband, she leaves her father, Thomas Marshall, and three sisters, Mrs. Gardner Embrey of Neosho, Mrs. Nate Myers of Westville, Okla., and Mrs. John Harrison of Stark City, and a grandmother, Mrs. Logan Commons of Neosho.
She has been a member of the Baptist Church since girlhood and has lived in Newtonia most of her life. The high regard in which the community held her was attested by the large attendance at the funeral."
