"Ford was born May 26, 1890, in Paradise. He attended schools and a business college in the Chico area. He was married to Maude McElroy in Oroville 54 years ago. He was manager of the Smith Package Grocery in Durham for many years and since 1935 has been in the almond farming business.
"He was a member of the Native Sons of the Golden West, John Bidwell Parlor No.2 1 of Chico; IOOF No. 311 of Durham; and the Rebekah Lodge, No. 273 of Durham.
"Survivors include his widow, Maude of Durham; a son, Walter of Dayton; two daughters, Vivian Pyle of Durham, and Lorraine Hutton of Marysville; two sisters, Mrs. May Coon of Durham and Mrs. Nina Ramos of Sacramento; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
"Interment will be in Glen Oaks Memorial Park. Mark Ford, Craig Ford, Bruce Ford, Jimmie Pyle, Gary Hutton and Greg Hutton will be casket bearers."
