Funeral services for Mrs. Lydia Ellen Whitman, 91, of Petersburg, were held New Year's day at the Main Street Presbyterian church with Rev. Bruce Melton officiating. Burial was in Walnut Hills cemetery. Burial was in Walnut Hills cemetery. Mrs. Whitman died Wednesday, December 30, at Riddle Nursing home. She was born in Pike COunty August 25, 1862, the daughter of Fletcher H. Curtis and Elizabeth Jane Williams. She was married to Clark Whitman deceased, of Petersburg. Survivors are Loyd Burch of Huntingburg, whom the Whitmans reared from early childhood, also several nieces and nephews.
