Candice (Bates) Heaps lost her courageous 18 month battle with cancer in her home on June 26, 2011.

She was born on January 12, 1975 in Arcadia Valley, Missouri to Curtis and Dorothy Bates who now reside in Sandy, Utah. Candice attended elementary and junior high in Ironton, Missouri and graduated from high school in Amarillo, Texas in 1993.

She married Tyler Jarvis in January 1996, they later divorced. She remarried in March of 2008 to Lance Heaps. As a child, Candice had a passion for dance.

Later, as an adult, scrapbooking and photography became her hobbies. Her family will always remember the late night card games, her quick wit, infectious laugh and spontaneous sense of adventure.

Candice's never ending quest for education eventually led her to the classroom. She loved teaching reading and math at Northlake Elementary in Tooele.
