BARBARA SCHMELTER
Mrs. John Schmelter Sr. died last Thursday. The deceased was born in Germany in 1852 and at the age of four years came to America with her parents, settling in Clark's Mills. In 1873 she was united in marriage to John Schmelter and the couple resided in Rockland. The husband died some years ago, since which time she has lived in Brillion.
She is survived by four sons and one daughter. The sons are Joseph and John of Brillion, Edward of Rockland, Charles of Los Angeles, California where the daughter, Mrs. Anna Rose also resides. Three sisters also survive. They are Mrs. Anna Kohlbeck and Mrs. Katie Kohlbeck of Hewitt, Wis., and Mrs. Margaret Ecker of Brillion.
The funeral took place last Monday, services being held at St. Mary's Church, Rev. Garthaus performing the last rites.
