Death visited the Denham community Monday evening the 8th at 8:45 and from it Mrs Mathilda Brandt. Mrs Brandt had been in failing health for considerable time but had been serious only 3 days. Her passing takes from that section one of the early pioneers for she had been a resident there for 50 years.
Mrs Brandt was born in Vecksja Smoland, Sweden on July 7, 1861 and was married to John A Brandt at Center City on February 18, 1888. Her husband preceded her in death on October 31, 1831. The survivors are two daughters, Clara and Lillian at home, 4 sons, carl of grand Marias, Victor of Chisago City, Alfred and Theodore at home and one brother Alfred Mattson of St Paul and four grandchildren. The funeral was held Friday at 1:30 from home and 2:30 from the Swedish Methodist Church of Denham. Burial was made in the Methodist Cemetary here. Rev TG Olson officiated at the services. The pallbearers where Wm Larson, Anton Larson, John Anderson, OW Johnson, John Kroon and Charles Kroon.
