Geraldine "Jeri" Priscilla Risk, age 80, resident of Binford, ND passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Jeri was born February 20, 1931 in Frederick, SD the daughter of Alfreida and Harry Alden. At the age of 4 Jeri moved with her family to Minneapolis, MN where she grew up and graduated from South High School. Jeri married John Deering Risk on November 29, 1948 in Mason City, IA. Jeri worked for various companies in the Minneapolis area including Dayton's and Honeywell. The couple moved to Binford in 1957 where John pastored the Binford Gospel Tabernacle church for 46 years until his death on October 16, 2003. Jeri was an intricate part of the church's music ministry which included many Christmas programs that she wrote and directed. She sang for many weddings, funerals and other events. Over the years Jeri also worked for Vernis Haines, sold Avon, and was the Auditor and Assessor for the city of Binford.

Jeri was a member of the Binford Homemakers, the Binford and McHenry Senior Citizens, and the Binford Gospel Tabernacle. Jeri had a strong faith and devotion to her church and family. She had a big heart and loved the people of Binford.

Jeri will be remembered and deeply missed by her daughter Joy Delight (Dean) Land of Kulm, ND; sons Jeffrey Darwin (Tammy) Risk of Minot, ND and Jay Darcy (Patti) Risk of Bismarck, ND; grandchildren Grant Alexander Risk and Allegra Lexington Risk.

Jeri was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rev. J. Deering Risk and 2 children John Jr. & Pamela Jean.

Funeral services will be June 30, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Binford, ND. Visitation will be June 29, 2011 from 5 PM to 7 PM in the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel and continue one hour prior to services in the church. Interment will be in the Gospel Tabernacle Cemetery, Binford, ND.
