She was born June 11, 1924, in Aurora, daughter of Michael and Mary Helen (Commes) Zelensek. In 1941, she graduated from Madonna High School in Aurora. Dorothy and Ivan F. Adams were married on July 6, 1943.
Dorothy and Ivan farmed near Orangeville for many years. She also was a clerk at Wagner's Office Supply in Freeport.
She was a member of Ridott Community Church and a former member of the Women of the Moose.
Survivors include her children, Daniel (Glenda) Adams of Orangeville, Edward (Jeanne) Adams of Freeport and Susan (Buzz) Kortemeier of Michigan's upper peninsula; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Glenn (Lois) Zelensek of Aurora.
Preceding her in death were her husband in 1990, her parents and one brother, Robert.
The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Ridott Community Church with the Rev. Carlton Easley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Schwarz Funeral Home.
A memorial fund has been established in her memory.
