Rita Catherine Alley of Grayslake, formerly of Libertyville Funeral services for Rita Catherine Alley, 73, will begin at 9:30 a.m. today, at the McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville. Mass will follow at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Church, Libertyville. Born Aug. 2, 1928, in Stacyville, Iowa, she died Saturday, July 13, 2002, at her home. Interment will be in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville. Rita was a former executive secretary to the president and board of directors of First National Bank of Libertyville prior to her retirement in 1984. She was an active member of St. Joseph Parish where she had served as a volunteer on several committees. She was a member of the Guild of the BVM and the Libertyville Senior Council. Rita was a minister to the sick and had served as an EOM for St. Joseph Parish. She was an exceptional person who truly practiced her Christian faith. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend. Rita was revered by the many she touched with her kindness, generosity and devoted service. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Walter; children, Scot (Pam) Alley of Racine, Wis., Gregory (Joanne) Alley of New Berlin, Wis., Susan (Ralph) Monge of Woodstock and Mary Ruth (Alex) Velicki of Garden Grove, Calif.; grandchildren, Jeff, Mike, John, Lia and Alana Alley, Winona (Jason) Driesbach, Joshua Monge, Jonathan (Melissa) Monge and Katherine and Alex Velicki; twin sister, Ruth (Byron) Spear and sister, Mary (Leness) Laliberde; and brothers, Bill (Marge), Fr. Frank and Quint (Sally) Heimerman. In addition to her family she leaves many dear friends who she held dear to her heart and who she cherished deeply. She was preceded in death by her brother, Matt (Jean) Heimerman. Memorial contributions may be made to the A.L.S. Foundation, Milwaukee Chapter, 6909 W. North Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53213.
