Knova (Nova) Adkins Slone Conn, 88, of Martin, died Monday, May 28, 2007, at Our Lady of the Way Hospital, in Martin.

Born October 20, 1918, in Caney Creek, she was the daughter of the late Bud Adkins and Cora Spears Adkins. She was a homemaker.

She was twice married, first to Miles Slone, and later to Jim Conn. They both preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons: Dan D. Slone of Prestonsburg, and Crandell Lee Slone of Shelbyville; two daughters: Lula Newsome of Allen, and Loretta McKinney of Martin; two brothers: Harold Adkins of Martin, and Sesco Adkins of Allen; a sister, Della Crum of Martin; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Van R. Slone; a daughter, Shelby Jean Rowe; six brothers: Willie Adkins, Brack Adkins, Carl Adkins, Garner Adkins, Lewis Adkins, and John Lee Adkins; two sisters: Stella Conn and Dakota Conn; and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 30, at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin, with Bud Crum and Maynard Crum officiating.

Burial will be in Davidson Memorial Gardens, in Ivel
