Born in Newburne, he was a son of the late Samuel and Ella (Hallamore) Barkhouse.
Surviving are a daughter, Marjorie (Mrs. Kevin Oickle), Fredericton; a son Roy, Fredericton; three brothers, Moodie and Donald, both of Cornwall; Stewart, United States; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister, Alberta; five brothers; Harold, Ira, Enos, Noble and George.
The body is in Langille's Funeral Home, New Germany, where funeral will be held 2 p.m Tuesday, Rev. Gordon Rigby officiating, with burial in Barss Corner Cemetery.
