Husband of Emma (Peterson) Anderson. Father of Theodore, Walter, John and Hilmer.

The father, Peter Anderson, had learned the trade of brickmaking in Sweden, his native land; and on removing to Chesterton, Indiana, established a brick plant there. P.E. ran the Chesterton brickyard located behind the "new" Jewel on Indian Boundary Road. He retired when the second of his sons died in the brickyard. These bricks were used in many of the downtown buildings on Calumet Road that were replaced after the big 1902 fire.
