Mr. Knight, born in Manteo, was a retired real estate agent and was a former actor on Broadway and in Hollywood. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
He was the son of the late George Bright and Bessie Wescott Midgett and the husband of the late Patricia "Patty" Speck Midgett. Mr. Knight is survived by a sister, Nadine Ray of Fayetteville; and two brothers: Robert Midgett of Butner and Clifford Midgett of Kitty Hawk.
A memorial service was held at the Colington United Methodist Church on Wednesday, March 26 with the Rev. Bob Pitsch officiating.
The family will be at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Cliff and Ruth Midgett in Kitty Hawk.
