ALCINE KOUNTZ ARNETT, 75, of Memphis, devoted wife of 54 years of John W. Arnett, Jr., retired personnel clerk of Kellogg's died on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at Baptist Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Arnett was an alumna of Melrose High School, Howard University and member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She was on the Preservation Board of Melrose High School, was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and Breast Cancer Awareness.

Alpha Kappa Alpha - Ivy Beyond the Wall Ceremony. She will lie in state on Saturday, January 3 from 10-10:55 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, 2731 Enterprise, where she was a member for more than 60 years. Interment, Galilee Memorial Gardens.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her husband, John W. Arnett, Jr.; her sons, John W. "Tembo Skip" Arnett, III (Kweli), Reverend David Arnett, Dr. Mark W. Arnett ( Dr. Bridgette), and Paul S. "P. A. Bomani" Arnett (Sadio); her daughter, Minister Ann Arnett and seven grandchildren.

Her only sister Verla Kountz Davis, preceded her in death..
