Ella (Culbertson)Shively was born in 1864 to James S. and Martha (Jessup)Culbertson. She married Henry Franklin "Frank" Shively on Sept. 30,1883 in Henry Co.,IN. They were the parents of eight known children:
Jesse,Harry,Lena,Fred,John,Martha,Hubert,and Mary.

Mt. Summit, Ind., Mrs. Frank Shively died at her home east of town at 9:30 this morning after a long illness from a complication of ailments. The funeral will be from the Christian church at Mt. Summit, Monday at 2 p.m. Rev. F.P. Franklin of Yorktown will officiate.

Beside her husband, she leaves a large family, some of whom are married, James, Harry, Fred and Mrs. Ralph Test of Spiceland and Jesse, John, Hubert, Martha and Mary are at home.
