Sylvanus Van Watson, a retired farmer died last night in a local nursing home at the age of 80 years. A resident of St. Joseph three years. Mr Watson made his home at 1324 South Fifteenth St. He is survived by five sons, Ralph Watson, Slyvanus Watson and Ernest Watson, all of St. Joseph: Carl Watson, Fort Madison, Iowa, and Virgie Watson, with the United States Navy: five daughters, Mrs. Faye Steve, Mrs Edith Robinson and Miss Betty Jean Watson, all of St Joseph: Mrs Ellen Cooper, Independence, Mo., and Miss Mary Alice Watson, Omaha, Neb., and seven grandchildren. The body is at the Barry Mortuary, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow. The Rev. J.W. Minor will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
