Evan Michael Wolfe, 15, of Matthews, was taken into the glory of our heavenly Father on June 21, 2011. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Covenant Church in Matthews. The family will receive friends 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private at Matthews Historic Cemetery.
Evan was the precious and beloved son of Michael and Kirsten Wolfe. He was born in Mecklenburg County on October 19, 1995. He was a gift of great joy for all his family for the years the Lord allowed for sharing life with Evan in this world.
Evan was homeschooled by his mother until he entered Metrolina Christian Academy for 8th grade, where he performed well academically and participated in sports and drama. He was full of life, and enthusiastic and energetic in his endeavors. Evan loved music, played the piano and sang, and was a talented sketch artist. He played youth soccer, high school basketball, and especially enjoyed his year of playing high school football. He loved the family dog Sierra. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his friends. He was committed to active involvement in the Christ Covenant youth ministry, and his last day in this world was spent serving as part of 'Seek the City,' a church missions outreach.
Survivors include his parents, sister Danica, brother William, sister Karen and her son James, and brother Jeremiah. Other survivors, whom Evan dearly loved and prayed for, include his grandmothers, and his aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial contribution be directed to Christ Covenant Church at Fullwood Avenue in Matthews, NC in support of the youth ministry missions outreach.
The Wolfe family is in the care of the Heritage Funeral Home, Weddington Chapel.
'Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.' - Psalms 116:15. 'The sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.' - Romans 8:18.
