George Alma Berrett, 71, city park foreman, died Wednesday afternoon.

Death followed a stroke suffered Monday afternoon at his home at 240 E. 13th St.

Mr. Berrett was born at North Ogden, Utah, June 16, 1888, to Samuel and Elizabeth Ditchburn Newby Berrett. He was married to Maud Unk Briggs Feb. 1, 1910 at Lewisville. The marriage was solemnized June 17, 1948, in the Cardston LDS Temple in Alberta, Canada.

After their marriage they lived in Menan for several years, then moved to Blackfoot where he operated a transfer company. He was also street commissioner there for several years. In 1912 they moved to Idaho Falls, where he was employed by the city and later named city park foreman.

Mrs. Berrett died Oct. 16, 1956.

He is survived by two sons and two daughters: Lynn G. Elvard A. and Mrs. Lexie Howard, all of Idaho Falls, and Mrs. Eugene (Lulu) Black of Shelley; seven grandchildren; one brother, Lewis Berrett, and one sister, Mrs. Lettie Andrus, both of Idaho Falls.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the 3rd LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Wayne Conrad officiating.
