"Clara S. Witwer
Clara S. Witwer, 95, of Greeley, died Saturday, Jan. 24, at Centennial Health Care Center.

Mrs. Witwer was born Sept. 24, 1902 to William McDonald and Grace C. (Wilson) Steele in Waterloo, Iowa.

On Nov. 1, 1926, she married Stow L. Witwer in River Forest, Ill.

Mrs. Witwer graduated from Northwestern University in 1925. She went to the S. L. W. Dude Ranch as a guest and the following year, she married Mr. Witwer, one of the operators of the ranch.

They lived on the ranch until 1991, when she moved to Greeley for health reasons.

She was awarded the Greeley Sertoma Club Service to Mankind Award and was a long time member of the Elizabeth Snyder Poetry Club and Bookworms. She served on the Salvation Army Advisory Board for 19 years, served as W.I.R.S. volunteer for 28 years and served on the building site of the First Congregational Church. She became the first woman moderator of the Colorado Congregational Conference in 1952.

Mrs. Witwer was a member of First Congregational Church since 1929.

Survivors are two daughters, Joy Thomson of Mercer Island, Wash., and Carol Worth of Littleton; a son, Stow L. Witwer, Jr. of Greeley; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-
grandchildren. Her husband and three brothers are deceased.

Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Allnutt Funeral Service/Macy Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church in care of the Macy Chapel."
