Jake B. Roobin
Jake B. Roobin, 86, of 901 E. 19th Ave., Cordele, a former city commissioner and co-owner of Roobin's Department Store, died early Wednesday , Feb 12, 1997, in Crisp Regional Hospital.
A native of Crisp County, Mr. Roobin was a member of the Chamber of Commece, Pine Hills Country Club and a past member of the Elks Club. He was also a third degree Mason and a member of Temple B'Nai Israel in Albany.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanniene and Bill Samuels of Atlanta and Marcia and Barry Lurey of Madison; a brother Dr. Avrom Roobin of Macon; a sister. Mrs. Lena Minkoff of Cordele; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his wife, Anne Morgan Roobin.
Graveside services are set for 3:30 p.m. Thursday with Rabbi Zeke Palnick officiating. Burial will be in Sunnside Cemetery. Hughes & Wright Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
