When Ada May was about 10 years old when three of her young siblings died within one year.
Ada May Miller was married to Warren Addison Gates February 1, 1903 in Beattie, Marshall County, Kansas. The family lived in the North East corner of Kansas, approximately three miles from the Nebraska State line.
On 7th February 1923, Warren, Ada and their children, Floyd, Fred, Erma and Roy entered Canada at North Portal, Saskatchewan and Portal, North Dakota. They continued their journey to their new home in the Village of Milden, Saskatchewan.
Ada and Warren owned a farm. In their later years, they lived in town, the Village of Milden, Saskatchewan. They were active members of this farming community.
Ada was a valued member of the Milden United Church. Ada loved to quilt and made several of them for her children, grandchildren and other family members. Her favourite colour was purple!
