Tammy grew up faithfully serving at Redemption Missionary Baptist Church where her father was the Pastor. She regularly attended Bible Study, Sunday School and enjoyed singing in the youth choir. She confessed her faith and gave her life to the Lord as a young child. Tammy was a virtuous woman of faith and strength.

Tammy attended Cedar Rapids Public Schools where she maintained honor roll status throughout her educational years.

She was involved in various school activities such as the Spanish Club and the Office Education Club. Through the Office Education Club she was able to travel to San Antonio, TX where she and her team participated in competitions with students from across the nation. The team received awards in many of their competitions.

Through the Office Education Club, Tammy found her first job as a secretary. In 1981, Tammy graduated from Kennedy High School.

After graduating from high school, Tammy moved to Wichita, KS. To continue growing in faith, she joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church (currently Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church) where she held multiple positions of service in the ministry. There she met and married the love of her life, Gregory Foster on July 9, 1988. They were blessed with three beautiful children, Taisha, Elaya and Aaron.

For over twenty years she severed as the Church Secretary and later became Pastoral Secretary. Tammy was employed at NCR Corporation for many years. She had a zest for knowledge. Tammy consistently enrolled in programs and course studies that allowed her to fulfill her interest Later she received her Transcriptionist Certificate, and during the time of her departure worked for Kansas Nephrology as a medical transcriptionist.

Tammy was exceptional at whatever she chose to do, though she walked in an unassuming spirit. She was never at a loss for words to encourage the heart and nurture the mind. We will miss her kindness, infectious laughter and enduring words wisdom.
