Devis Watts (Tom) Gresham, 69, 131 McHenry Drive, died Tuesday in a Rome hospital following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Gresham was born in Floyd County, son of the late William Archie Gresham and Amanda Elizabeth Shaw Gresham and had been a resident of Rome most of his life. He was a member of North Side Baptist Church, a deacon and a Sunday School teacher of the Men's Bible class and served as a trustee of Peach State Bible Camp. Prior to retirement he was employed by American Bakery and was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Corps of Engineers.

Survivors include his widow, the former Annie Loveless; two daughters, Mrs. Billy (Marilyn) Patterson and Mrs. Ronald (Ginger) Wallace, both of Rome; one son, Dr. L. Wayne Gresham, Southern Baptist Missionary to the Phillippines; two brothers, Gary M. Gresham and W. A. Gresham, both of Rome; one sister, Mrs. Polly Hart, Dunnellon, Fla.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Jennings Heritage Chapel with the Rev. Billy Patterson and Dr. L. Wayne Gresham officiating. Interment will be in East View Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Hubert Loveless, Gordon Harris, James Studdard, Fred Tolbert, Archie Pettyjohn and Dick Mitchell.
