Chandler Amsey Heath is the son of James and Jane Ayer Heath. He married Elizabeth Emma Huxtable on 13 Dec 1879 and they had three children: Lillie Viola, Richard James and Sallie Jane.

OBITUARY FOR CHANDLER AMSEY HEATH FROM THE MINERAL POINT TRIBUNE, MINERAL POINT, IOWA, WISCONSIN: FROM THE COLLECTION OF LELAND HALE ZOLLINGER.

Chandler Amsey Heath, son of James and Jane Heath was born in Rochester, Minnesota on July 27th 1858, and died in Waldwick, WI on the 18th day of December, 1934 at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 21 days.

He was the fourth child in a family of seven children, three girls and four boys. When Chandler was fourteen years old his parents moved from Minnesota to Waldwick, Wisconsin where he spent the remainder of his life. When he was twenty-one years old he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Emma Huxtable on the 13th day of December, 1879. To this union were born three children, two girls, Lillie Viola, and Sallie Jane and one boy, Richard James. The bond of the home was broken when Mrs. Heath was called to her rest at the age of sixty-five, almost ten years ago.

Mr. Heath was a member of the Waldwick Methodist church, uniting with it on the 17th day of July 1892, when the Rev. F. W. Stamp was pastor on this charge. For many years he served as Sexton on this church.

Although he lived on a farm a good portion of his life he was a carpenter by trade and most of his work was along the line of his trade. He was a man of quiet habits and kindly spirit and was well liked by his neighbors and friends. His life was like a quiet stream carrying its load without any great disturbance.

For the most part he enjoyed a healthy life up to the 17th day of October of this year when he suffered a stroke which left him somewhat weak. The last stroke came upon him on Saturday, December 8th at about eleven o'clock in the morning, leaving him paralyzed on the right side. He was unable to speak or to help himself from that time on. He could only show his appreciation to those who calloed by a firm grip of his left hand, and the lighting up of his features with a smile. He manifested a keen sense of humor even when it was impossible for him to speak. A smile would play about his face at the mere suggestion of wit or humor.

Mr. Heath answered the "Imperative Call" at midnight on the 18th day of December 1934. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs Christopher J. Whitford of Mineral Point, Mrs. Marcus Hanson of Linden, and his son, Richard of Waldwick; one sister, Mrs. Charley Campton of Storm Lake, Iowa and one brother, Ara B. Heath of Newell, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

The funeral services were held in the Waldwick Methodist church on December 21st, Rev. Bernard G. Herrick, officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Waldwick cemetery.
