Carol M. Trojan, R.N. passed away peacefully on June 17, 2011 with her husband of sixty-five years holding her hand.

She was born in 1919 in Jackson, Minnesota to John and Florence Thoreson. She graduated St. John's Hospital School of Nursing in Redwing, Minnesota in time to join the war effort in World War II. She served in England with the 187th General Hospital Unit.

After discharge she met the love of her life, Thomas R. Trojan. They married in Seattle, Washington and then settled on a farm in Leigh, Nebraska.

They moved their young family to Utah, where she continued her nursing career at Cottonwood Hospital, working until she retired in 1983. She and Tom enjoyed a long retirement, traveling all fifty states - mostly in their motor home.

Survived by her husband, Thomas Trojan; children: Becky and Steve Andersen of Murray; John and Julie Trojan of Draper; Cathy Johnson of Murray; Bill Trojan and Susan Stone of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 24, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Christ Lutheran Church, 240 East 5600 South, Murray. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street (100 East), and Friday at the church from 12:00-12:45 p.m.
Interment: Leigh, Nebraska.
