Johnney Lavar Clark, age 72, of Dinosaur, Colo., formerly of Roosevelt, died June 17, 2011 at his home in Dinosaur surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Nov. 25, 1938 in Vernal to Lloyd (Jack) Lavar and Maxine Thompson Clark. He married Veone Ida Eldredge Sept. 14, 1957 in Vernal; Veone died May 30, 2004. He married Sheila Mae Williamson Feb. 12, 2008.

In his younger days John liked to hunt and fish. He was a huge fan of the Denver Broncos and the Utah Jazz, at one time he was a coin collector. He enjoyed yard work and growing flowers and had a good "green thumb." He had a love for dogs, especially Tuffy, Bingo, Duffy, and Sammie. He loved his family and spending time with them.
His occupation was in house building and construction. He served in the US Marines from 1955-1959.

He is survived by wife, Sheila, of Dinosaur; two sons, Jimmey (Kelly) Clark, Texas; Wayne Clark, Nev.; a daughter, Cathy (James) Patry, Roosevelt; step-children, Lester (Debbie) Thompson, Evanston, Wyo.; Cindy Mitchell, Dinosaur; Laurie (Russell) Jenkins, Payson, Shellie Fehrn, Ogden; and Philina (Russell) Clegg, Dinosaur; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

He is also survived by three sisters and a brother, Gwen (Tom) Rasmussen, Ariz.; Carol "CJ" Wallace, Denver, Colo.; Michelle Mann Desilva, Vernal; and Harley (Connie) Morrison, Salt Lake City.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack, mother, Maxine Thompson Mann, and a sister Pat Huskey.

Funeral services will be held Wed., June 22 at 11 a.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary with viewings Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday morning 1 hour prior to the service.

Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion and the Utah Nation Guard. Burial of the cremated remains will be at a later date in the Roosevelt Memorial Park.
