Noted Mining Man Dead

Walter Scott Crimson, 82 years of age, and for many years a prominent figure in the development of Utah mines, died Monday at his home in San Francisco of a heart attack.

He was born in San Bernardino, Calif., August 1856, but came to Utah with his parents when a boy. He was educated in the schools of Utah and after graduation from the University of Utah he became well known throughout the intermountain west as a prominent mining engineer.

He is survived by his widow, one son and two daughters.

Funeral services were held in San Francisco, and the body was brought to Salt Lake City for burial.
