On December 8, 1864, Theodore was captured in a battle at Warren's Raid,VA, and became a POW. He was paroled and mustered out of Company G, 188th Infantry Regiment New York on 15 June 1865 in Elmira, NY.
Theodore and Mary had three known children: Alice, John and Mary.
In the 1880's, Theodore moved his family to Newaygo County, MI. He lived his final years in the home for veterans.
Mary went on to marry again, this time to Oscar Blood in Newaygo County. She is listed as being buried in the same cemetery, but there is no marker for her grave.
