CATHERINE CHAMBERS, COUNTY RESIDENT, SUCCUMBS TO ILLNESS
Mrs. Catherine Lee Chambers, 87, a resident of Tuolumine County, for nearly half a century, died at her home in Sonora late Sunday afternoon following a lingering illness.
Mrs. Chambers was a native of Pennsylvania and came to Tuolumne County about 1902 to make her home in the Blanket Creek District. For the past six years she has made her home in Sonora.
Funeral services were held from the Terzich Funeral Home at 2:00 o'clock, Wednesday afternoon followed by cremation at Park View Mausoleum in Stockton. The services here were conducted by Rev. Will Callahan, of Standard Community Church.
Mrs. Chambers was the widow of the late William Chambers, who was associated with W.E. Russell for many years in the operation of the Chambers and Russell Ranch in Blanket Creek district. The deceased leaves a nephew, Frank A. Ruhl, of Pennsylvania and a second cousin, Robert G. Baker, of San Mateo.
