William had a twin sister, named Annie Belle Chambers. William is a descendant from the Capt. Robert Chambers who came over from Ireland in the 1700's along with three other brothers. One Brother, Benjamin, founded Chambersburg, PA. The Chambers family has distinguished themselves over the years in private life and military endeavors.

WILLIAM S. CHAMBERS, WELL KNOWN RANCHER DIED THURSDAY

Following an extended illness, William S. Chambers, 80, died at his home Thursday evening. Final rites were held at the Burden Chapel Saturday afternoon with Rev. Chester Hill officiating. Cremation at the Park View Crematory, Stockton, followed.

Chambers, who was born in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, went to Denver as a young man where he remained for some years. He arrived here about thirty eight years ago in company with a close friend, W.E. Russell. Together they purchased the Berger farm, renaming it the Chambers and Russell Ranch. Chambers was a talented musician and often sang at local concerts and had been a member of a Denver church choir.

Chambers is survived by his widow, Mrs. Katherine L. Chambers; a sister, Mrs. M.L. Ross of Coatsville, PA and several nieces and nephews.
