Grandfather owned Shirley Plantation. Edward I left it to II who was buried here. II left it to III who was also buried here. III would've left it to IV but IV died young. So he left it to his daughter Elizabeth & her husband John Carter.

s/o Edward Hill II

h/o Elizabeth Williams

f/o Edward IV, Martha "Aunt Pratt" Giffard, Henrietta Taylor & Elizabeth Carter Cocke

The rumor is Martha went off to England to school & ended up marrying somebody & staying there. There was an oil painting done of her before she left. As long as this pic's kept in her old room...all is well. Move the pic elsewhere & they say "Aunt Pratt" isn't happy.
