HATTERAS - Wilma Hall Peele Scarborough, 85, of Hatteras, died Monday, July 7, in an Elizabeth City Hospital.

Mrs. Scarborough, a native of Hatteras, was a homemaker and a member of the Hatteras United Methodist Church.

She was the daughter of the late George Thomas and Minerva Gray Peele and the widow of David Fulton Scarborough.

Mrs. Scarborough is survived by one daughter: Cecelia Newcomb of Hatteras; two sons: Leon R. Scarborough of Hatteras and Robert F. Scarborough of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister, Margaret Quidley of Hatteras; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Hatteras United Methodist Church on July 9 with the Rev. Jim Huskins and the Rev. Don Brown officiating. Burial will be in the family cemetery. The family will receive friends at Twiford's Island Chapel, Hatteras on Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at other times at the home of Mrs. Scarborough in Hatteras. Twiford Island Chapel, Hatteras, is in charge of arrangements.
