Harry H. Whipp, M.D., was born in Houston, Harris County, Texas. He held a bachelor of science in petroleum engineering, then graduated from Southwestern Medical School in 1966 and completed a one-year internship at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth before entering the U.S. Navy. He was stationed at Pensacola, Fla., for his tour of duty. He then did a radiology residency at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas. He enjoyed many hobbies, talents and was an avid reader and conversationalist. A loving and generous husband, father and grandfather, Dr. Whipp passed away quietly at his home. Harry was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Sue Hubbard and Nancy Matthews; and a son, Martin Randall Whipp. Fort Worth Star-Telegram, May 7 & 8, 2011.
