Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Neal Funeral Home in Louisville. Burial will be in the Orchard Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday).
Bateman was born Feb. 16, 1914 in Clay County, the son of Clyde C. and Bertha Cora (Tolliver) Bateman. He married Sylvia Wilson August 1935.
He was a farmer and carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, of Louisville; a daughter, Glenna Baker, of Olney; a brother, Rev. Kenneth Bateman, of Lagrange, Ind.; a twin sister, Mrs. Murvin (Loyse) McKnight, of Olney; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Bateman was preceded in death by his parents.
