Loyse Mildred McKnight, age 100, of Whitewater, Wisconsin, formerly of Olney, passed peacefully on Monday, September 15, 2014 at Our House Assisted Living in Whitewater, WI.
Loyse was born February 16, 1914 to Bertha (Tolliver) and Clyde Bateman in rural Clay County near Louisville, IL.
Loyse married Murvin B. McKnight May 7, 1937 at Crown Point, IN.
They lived most of their life in Olney, IL where Murvin worked for the Pure Oil Company. He preceded her in death on May 27, 1995. Loyse enjoyed her family, sewing and quilting and participating in church activities. She was a member of the Olney Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by three of her six children, Phyllis Batra of Whitewater, WI, John (Cathy) McKnight of Nanaimo, B.C., Canada, and Kaye (Larry) Frisk of Sandy, Utah. Also surviving are grandchildren, David (Georgia) Frisk of Lake Stevens, WA, Dinesh Batra of Houston, TX, Mukta Khurana of Houston, TX, Scott Batra of Whitewater, WI, and Jason (Zynthia) Batra of Oakland, CA; and great grandchildren, Kody and Kylee Frisk, Nick, Shanta, David, India and Austin Batra, and Sonia and Neera Khurana.
Loyse was preceded in death by three children, Brenda Schrey, Ronald, and Shirley, son-in-law, Harish Batra, her parents and four brothers, Ken (Ruth), Berlin (Vida), twin brother, Loy (Sylvia), and William (Mildred) Bateman, her husband, Murvin and all of his immediate family, as well as several nieces and nephews.
