WELLSVILLE - Ellen Louise Burrell, 74, of 232 Scott Ave., Wellsville, went to be with the Lord, Saturday (January 8, 2005) at Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville, after a long illness. Born in Woodhull, N.Y., Feb. 13, 1930
, she was the daughter of George and Dorothy Campbell Bonham. Ellen is preceded in death by her husbands, Basil Ladd, Jr. and Lewis C. (Mike) Burrell. She is also preceded in death by sisters, Virginia (Roy) DeLapp of Hornell, and Mariam (Rusty) Clark, of Bolivar.
Ellen is survived by her longtime companion of 24 years, Wayne Burch, and three daughters, Mary (Arnie) Farthing-Flint of Hornell, Connie (Steve) Colegrove of Troupsburg, and Darlene (Robert) Dibble of Arkport; one son, Scott (Karla) Burrell of Virginia City, Nevada, and foster daughter, Shirley (Mike) Bertrand of Colorado.
Also surviving are sisters, Josephine (Fred) Keyser, of Wellsville, Betty (Carlton) Neu, of Bath, and Barbara (Charles) McFall of Beaver Dams; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ellen retired from Jones Memorial Hospital in 1992. Her greatest loves were her family, friends, and camping at the CB Campgrounds in Addison, enjoying the outdoors and traveling. She was a life-member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Hornell, the Wellsville American Legion Post 702 Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose Lodge 601 of Wellsville.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc., Funeral Home, 1607 Main St., Woodhull. There will be a time of gathering from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, at the Woodhull Fire Hall, prior to evening visitation. Funeral services will be conducted immediately following visitation Wednesday at 8 p.m. Burial will be in Woodhull Cemetery.
