New Hampshire Governor and United States Diplomat. Despite having to leave Princeton University in 1913 due to insufficient finances, he would go on to serve as the 60th Governor of New Hampshire for two non-consecutive terms, the first term lasting from 1925 to 1927 and the second term lasting from 1931 to 1935. He also served as United States Ambassador to Great Britain from 1941 to 1946 and as a Delegate to the Republican National Convention from New Hampshire in 1928 and 1932.
