Amy A. Carson, age 85 of Joplin, passed away at 6:20 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at a local health care center following a long illness.
Born October 11, 1925 in Lamar, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Albert Joseph Howard and Sitha Ellen Crawford Howard and lived in Joplin most of her lifetime. She was a homemaker.
She married John A. Carson at Columbus, Kan. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1995. An infant son; a grandson; two sisters and one daughter-in-law, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, Donnie Carson of Nashville, Tenn., Ron Carson and wife Gwen of Carl Junction, Tommy Carson and wife Kristy of Joplin; one brother, Albert Howard and wife Sue of Carl Junction; one sister, Minnie Whitaker and husband David of Oakville, Ia.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Bob Simon officiating. Wayne and Harry Howard, Ronnie, Thad and Gaige Carson, Larry Smith and Robert Counts will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Parker Mortuary.
