Roman L "Speedy" Speegle, 75 of 233 Floramar Ter S, Gulf Harbors, New Port Richey, died Sunday.
A native of Flint, Ala, he came here 13 years go from Rochester, NY. He was a retired professor emeritus of physical education at the University of Rochester and a member of the Gulf Harbors Civic Association, the Helms Swimming Hall of Fame, and was the founder of the Rochester Area Multiple Sclerosis, Inc.
He is survived by his wife Margaret; a son James, Rochester; a daughter Judith Lunger, Jackson Hole, Wyo; a sister, Mrs Wynelle Goodyear, Birmingham, Ala, and five grandchildren.
Cremation. Riverside chapel, North Funeral Home, New Port Richey, is in charge. The family suggests that memorial donations may be made to the Rochester Area Multiple Sclerosis Fund, 100 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY, 14620.
