Helen Virginia Barber, 73, 204 W. Harrison St., died at 10:20 p.m. Monday at Alliance Community Hospital.
Mrs. Barber was born May 7, 1918, in Limaville , to Roy and Nellie Salisbury Hardman, and graduated from Alliance High School. She worked for nine years for Alliance Manufacturing Co.
Mrs. Barber was a member of First Immanuel United Church of Christ, McCaskey Retirees, Ladies of the Shrine of Akron Tadmor Temple, Alliance Senior Citizens, Pythian Sisters, Alliance Manufacturing Retirees, and Swinging Sixties Bowling League, and was a Red Cross volunteer.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph; three daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Janet Bryant) Murphy, and Linda Bryan, both of Canton, and Mrs Gary (Elizabeth Barber) Miller of Toledo; a son Richard Bryant of Louisville; a step-mother Annabelle Raber of Alliance; six step-sisters and step-brothers; and 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Barber was preceded in death by a sister, Ida Wolfenbarger, and a brother, Walter Hardman.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Myers-Israel Funeral Home, wth the Rev. Alden H. Blake officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park.
