She was born May 9, 1908 near Lockridge, the daughter of Fredrick Simon and Lorena Lyon Dallner. She attended Union #1 one room school near her home as a child. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1927 where she received her Normal Trainig Certificate.
She taught at Elm Grove school north of Salina for 2 years.
On August 4, 1929, she married Frank Emerson Masden at the Methodist Church in Fairfield. They settled on the family farm 7 miles northeast of Fairfield in the Richwoods community. To this union 3 daughters were born. Marilyn Inez, Judith Ann and Janet Kay.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield where she was a member of the Priscilla Circle and taught Sunday school and was honored as one of the oldest members of the church. She was a member of the Salina Rebecca Lodge, active in 4-H wher she served as a leader and was a member of the Farm Bureau wher she served as a committee woman. She was a member of the Richwoods Willing Workers and Merry Makers. She was a member of D.A.R. and a member of the Colonial Order of the Crown and the V.F.W. auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb.14,1984, a daughter Judith Ann Feb. 8 2007 and siblings: Espy Dallner, Rex Dallner, Dale Dallner, Erma Kopp and Beatrice Dallner.
Surviving are her 2 daughters Marilyn Clark and Janet Fretheim, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
