Mary Miller Beach, 86, of Morganton, went to her Heavenly home, Friday, January 14, 2011, while at her residence.
Born March 14, 1924 in Caldwell County, she was a daughter of the late Coy Miller and Nellie Turnmire Miller. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Beach was also preceded in death by her husband, John Hardie Beach, four brothers, Rosebur, Ransom, Rufus and Grady Miller and two sisters, Ruth Baker and Pansy Bumgarner.
Mrs. Beach was a member of the Calvin Heights Baptist Church, Morganton. She enjoyed sewing and liked to crochet.
Mrs. Beach is survived by a son, Cecil Beach and wife Janice, of Jonas Ridge, NC; a daughter, Glenda Clark and husband, Mackie, of Morganton;
two brothers, Ned Miller of Lenoir and J.D. Miller, of OH; a sister, Mae Holsclaw, of Banner Elk, NC; a special niece, Betty Greene, of Lenoir, NC; four grandchildren, Johnny Beach, Rhonda Biggerstaff, Michael Clark and Julie Clark;
four great grandchildren, Alyssa, Madison, Emma and Eli; she will also be lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Beach will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, January 16, 2011, in the Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home, Morganton, with the Reverend Neal Brantley officiating. Interment will follow at the Calvin Heights Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Eddy Perry, Sonny Moore, Johnny Beach, Jason Miller, Joe Don Biggerstaff, Michael Clark and Ralph Walker. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690. Kirksey Funeral Home of Morganton has the honor of serving the Beach family.
