Mae Miller Holsclaw, age 84, of Banner Elk, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at Life Care Center in Banner Elk. She was born August 9, 1932 in Caldwell County to the late Coy C. and Nellie Turnmire Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband H. Blake Holsclaw; four brothers, Roseboro Miller, Ranson Miller, Rufus Miller, and Grady Miller; and three sisters, Ruth Moore Baker, Pansy Bumgarner, and Mary Beach.
Mrs Holsclaw was a retired switchboard shipping operator for Thomasville Furniture and a member of First Advent Christian Church.
Survivors include one son, Michael M. Holsclaw and wife Patricia of Mebane, N.C.; one daughter, Karen and husband James Magner, III of Newland; two brothers, Ned Miller of Lenoir and J.D. Miller of Bedford, Ohio; five grandchildren, Blake Holsclaw, Luke Holsclaw, Mitchell Holsclaw, Alex Magner, IV, and Kelly Magner; and her cousin, Betty Greene.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 10, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Burke Jones. Interment will immediately follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
