"Ab" (as he was called by everyone that knew him)attended public school in Segovia and Junction.
At the age of eighteen, he was inducted into the United States Army. Following six weeks of basic training at Camp Hood, he was shipped into the Pacific War Theater to fight against the Japanese. He
served as an infantryman on both Leyte and Luzon islands with forces commanded by General Douglas McArthur, until hostilities ceased. Upon returning to the United States, he was stationed at Fort Hood to finish his tour of duty. There Ab met Wanda Joy Porter of Mason, and they were married
June 5, 1946.

This union produced four children, Dwight Davis, Ricky Davis, Helen Davis Wissner,
all of Junction, and Wayne Davis of Marble Falls. At the time of his death, Ab and Wanda were blessed with four children, eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and sixty-two years of
happiness together. He was preceded in death by his ten brothers and sisters.

Ab took pride in being a lifelong resident of Kimble County. His love of the outdoors, hunting, watching local wildlife, the Dallas Cowboys (win, lose or draw), and sharing time with friends and family, gave him great pleasure in life. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord at the age of fifteen and was baptized. His Christian faith gave him strength and encouragement through life's trials. Ab will be greatly missed by his family and friends
