KERRVILLE — Services for Howard Leonard Davis, 79, of Kerrville, who died Wednesday in Kerrville, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Andrew Pate officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Born Feb. 22,1914 in Segovia, Mr. Davis had been a resident of Kerrville for 40 years, formerly residing in Junction. He had served in the U.S. Army from 1940 to 1945. He was a retired nurse's aid, having worked at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center for 23 years. He was a member of the DAV and the American Legion. He married Pearl Eunice Hamilton on Oct. 20,1941 in Junction. She survives. Other survivors include six daughters, Edna Ann Young of Fredericksburg, Sylvia Fraley of Sommersville, W.Va., Debbie Hall, Dorothy Conley, Shirley Sabins and Barbara Shaver, all of Kerrville; a son, James Leonard Davis of Sonora; three sisters, Lena Busby of Belton, Edith Maddox of Junction, and Margaret Busby of Boerne; five brothers, Allen Davis of London, Robert Davis, Jasper "Dig" Davis, Richard Davis and Ab Davis, all of Junction; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Grimes Funeral Chapel in Kerrville is in charge of arrangements.
