Helene M. Horvath, age 84, of Hastings, passed away June 7, 2011 at the Regina Nursing Home in Hastings. Helene was born March 13, 1927, to Herman and Rose Erlichmann in Holding Township, MN. She married Andrew H. Horvath on May 11, 1946 In Holdingford, MN. Helene was a homemaker, but spent much time as a volunteer at church and school.
Helene was a wife, mother, grandmother, and caregiver who was the strength of her family. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking, gardening, and she loved dancing with dad.
Helene was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother. She is survived by her daughters, Michelle (Jim) Hoeschen of Hastings; and Patricia (Denis) Hughes of Cedar Rapids, IA; grandchildren, Ellie; Jimmy; Andrea; Jay; Zachary; Brody; Jason; and Brett; 2 great granddaughters; sister, Iyone Horvath; and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Fr. Robert Altier, was Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Regina Memorial Chapel in Hastings. Visitation will be held one hour prior to mass at Regina. Interment was at Hillside Cemetery in Minneapolis. The Wise Family Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
