Iyone R. Horvath, 88, of Greenbush, formerly of Holdingford, MN died Friday, September 9, 2011 in LifeCare Greenbush Manor.
Iyone R. Horvath was born January 13, 1923 to Herman and Rose Ehrlichman. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Holdingford, MN and graduated from Holdingford High School. She was a lifetime member of the Christian Mothers Society.
Iyone married the love of her life, at age 25, Jim Horvath. He was a farmer and was employed as a welder. She was a stay at home mom to children Annie and Jeffrey. After Jim died in 1970 and Jeffrey died in 1975, she stayed on the farm. She enjoyed gardening, both vegetables and flowers. She was an excellent cook (everything from scratch). She enjoyed auction sales. She also loved sewing and refinishing furniture as hobbies.
She left her farm in 1999 to live at the Greenbush Nursing Home and continued to reside there until her death on September 9th. She was 88 years old and lived that length of years due to the compassion of the nursing staff. She enjoyed the outings in the nursing home van and the caring of the Blessed Sacrament Community and the fellowship of the weekly religious activities. Church was an important part of her life.
She is survived by her daughter-Annie Borg of Middle River, MN. Several nieces & nephews and friends near and far away.
