She is survived by three sons: Gordon Allen (wife, Janis) of Rowland, Mitchell Lee (wife, Becky) of Mechanicville, VA and William Duncan of Homestead, FL; two sisters: Mary Francis Monroe of Laurinburg, Betty Jo Lau of Richmond, VA and sister-in-law, Sara Richardson of Maxton. Her grandsons will be pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.

Moving to Rowland in 1941, after her nuptials to Oscar Tyson, Margaret was a longtime, dedicated and active member of the Rowland Presbyterian Church. She spent decades working at the Dixiana Manufacturing plant, but she filled her life with what she loved most, her family. Always the life of the party, she was just as comfortable dancing in New York City as she was sitting at her kitchen table, holding a loved one's hand and talking about their day. She traveled the country with her family and especially enjoyed the large gatherings at the beach. But no matter how busy she was working or traveling or spending time in her beloved garden, she always took time for her children. Her house and kitchen was often the center of gatherings for family and friends as stories were told and laughter could be heard all the way down the street. Her love and laughter will be missed.
